The Daegu Center for Creative Economy and Innovation held a presentation on the robotics sector of its pre-startup package.

The Daegu Creative Economy Innovation Center announced that on the 5th, it held a performance sharing event called “Robot Day” to share the achievements of startups in the robotics field that received support from the preliminary startup package and to explore ways for continued growth in the future.

The Preliminary Startup Package Support Project, hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, supports the early stages of commercialization for aspiring entrepreneurs through 26 leading organizations nationwide. The Daegu Center for Creative Economy and Innovation has operated this program since 2019, providing a total of 247 companies with various support options, including commercialization funding, mentoring, and investment connections.

The Daegu Center for Creative Economy and Innovation, as the sole organizer of the Deep Tech Robotics Track, a pre-startup package support program, identified and supported eight prospective entrepreneurs with products related to the upstream and downstream robotics industries. All eight companies have completed their startups and are pursuing commercialization in various fields, including robotics-based hardware and systems, and AI services.

Among the supported companies, Reboot Labs has completed the development of a prototype of an automatic waste sorting robot, while Nextline is developing an AI-based lane detection and painting robot. Korea Heavy Equipment Systems developed and commercialized a welding robot platform for armored vehicles for the defense industry, successfully attracting 200 million won in investment.

This performance sharing session was designed to review the commercialization achievements of deep-tech robotics startups and to share technological competitiveness and growth potential through interaction with relevant organizations, senior entrepreneurs, and investors. The event included presentations of corporate performance, lectures on robotics industry trends, a talk concert, and a mentoring program.

In particular, former President of the Korea Robot Industry Advancement Institute, Son Woong-hee, participated as a speaker and delivered a lecture on technological and market trends in the robotics industry, which garnered significant attention from attendees. The event was open to the public, including anyone interested in the robotics industry and entrepreneurship.

The Daegu Creative Economy Innovation Center plans to continue supporting follow-up commercialization and investment linkages for robotics startups through this performance sharing session.
