Sonics CEO Yang Hyung-guk presents TF-SAW foundry technology vision at IMFW Hong Kong.

Hyung-Guk Yang, CEO of Sonics (088280), a foundry specializing in advanced filter technology, participated as an invited speaker at the International Microwave Filter Workshop (IMFW) held in Hong Kong on the 7th (local time) and presented the TF-SAW (Thin Film Surface Acoustic Wave) foundry technology strategy and vision. IMFW is an event where global RF filter experts and industry leaders gather to discuss next-generation technology trends.

CEO Yang Hyung-guk presented a lecture titled "A Paradigm Shift in High-Performance Filter Manufacturing for Next-Generation Mobile Communications," explaining that precision signal control in high-frequency bands is emerging as a key element of communication performance in the 6G era, beyond 5G. He emphasized that TF-SAW technology will overcome the limitations of existing SAW filters and become a core solution in the smartphone and communications equipment markets.

The presentation also showcased Sonics' dedicated TF-SAW foundry capabilities. Beyond simple manufacturing, Sonics offers a "total foundry solution" that optimizes processes and supports demanding specifications, enabling customers to meet their design needs. Sonics explained that its nanometer-scale thin film control technology and proprietary etching process enable the stable implementation of high-performance RF filter specifications.

During the Q&A session, global RF companies expressed continued interest in our production capacity operation strategies and yield management expertise. CEO Yang stated, "This IMFW presentation has confirmed the competitiveness of Sonics' TF-SAW foundry technology on the global stage. We will continue to invest in R&D and drive process innovation to lead the technological standards of the next-generation RF filter market."
