Eurobotics selected as a Samsung Electronics C-Lab Outside

Eurobotics, an autonomous walking robot technology startup, announced on the 10th that it has been selected for Samsung Electronics' C-Lab Outside program in recognition of its technological competitiveness.

Eurobotics is developing autonomous walking technology that enables robots to move reliably in unstructured, rough terrain like mountainous areas and in environments with frequent environmental changes like construction sites. This technology is unique in that it is designed to be applied to a variety of general-purpose robot hardware, independent of specific robot platforms.

However, since each robot's sensors and computing capabilities vary, a certain level of sensing and computing configuration is required to achieve stable autonomous walking in real-world environments. Eurobotics presented the Mobile Kit as an alternative solution to this problem.

The Mobility Kit is a modular kit designed to rapidly apply Eurobotics' autonomous walking technology to a variety of robots. It supports environmental awareness and stable movement, even on uneven terrain. Eurobotics was selected for Samsung Electronics' C-Lab Outside based on the Mobility Kit's technological sophistication and scalability.

Recently, Eurobotics released a demo video showing a robot equipped with a locomotion kit walking stably on mountainous terrain. Mountainous environments are considered among the most challenging areas to implement, even among irregular terrains. As of this writing, stable humanoid walking on mountainous terrain is known to be rare.

Additionally, a demonstration video of the robot performing a typical jogging motion and running on a non-powered treadmill was released, suggesting the potential for robots to be utilized in a variety of physical environments.

Byung-ho Yoo, CEO of Eurobotics, said that stable movement in irregular terrain and constantly changing environments is essential for the practical use of robots, and that with this selection as C-Lab Outside, they plan to expand the scope of application of autonomous walking technology centered on the movement kit and advance the technology to a level that can be utilized in the general robot ecosystem, including humanoids.

Eurobotics plans to continue developing autonomous walking technology for unstructured, rough terrain and rapidly changing environments, and expand the application of its mobile kit-based solutions across all industrial sites.
