HNIX Expands AI Lab Center in Ulsan

IT specialist HNIX (CEO Dong-won Cha) announced on the 10th that it will expand and relocate its Ulsan branch and expand its AI Lab Center (Director: Executive Director Deuk-young Jeong) to fully pursue AI-based industrial innovation and AX (AI Transformation) transformation.

HNIX has strengthened its AI technology competitiveness and promoted technology internalization through strategic alliances and partnerships with major companies such as Naver. Building on this foundation, HNIX has successfully completed AX projects for key clients such as HD Hyundai, HL Mando, and HDC Industrial Development, generating business innovation and delivering significant results.

The expanded AI Lab Center will operate as a strategic hub for AX, developing and disseminating field-oriented, proven AI models, leveraging the Ulsan region's concentration of manufacturing, energy, and logistics industries. Furthermore, the center will focus on practical education and research activities to foster local AI talent and expand the industrial ecosystem.

The first AI Academy, launched last year, featured a curriculum that integrated technical training, industry domain analysis, problem definition, and AI strategy development. Some graduates participated in the AX Project, securing practical application skills. Starting this year, HNIX plans to run the second and third AI Academy sessions concurrently to cultivate domain-converged experts who encompass AI planning, strategy, development, and operations. This will foster a virtuous cycle of project experience and capability accumulation.

Beginning in the second half of this year, an AI Academy for external audiences will also be launched. Through open training programs for local business practitioners and aspiring entrepreneurs, joint startup projects, and technology exchanges, the academy aims to strengthen the AI utilization base and industrial cooperation model in the Busan-Ulsan region.

"Ulsan is a strategic hub where manufacturing and future technologies converge," said Jeong Deuk-young, director of the AI Lab. "With the AI Lab as the focal point, we will organically connect talent development, R&D, project execution, and startup collaboration to develop Ulsan into a leading AX/AI hub for the Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam regions." He emphasized, "The center will go beyond simple technology adoption and serve as an implementation-focused hub that presents successful AI utilization models in industrial settings."
