Ninetech Secures Supply of Key Process Modules for All-Solid-State Battery Mass Production Line

Ninetech, a secondary battery equipment specialist, announced on the 10th that it has secured a track record of supplying core process module components to all-solid-state battery manufacturers.

According to industry sources, all-solid-state batteries are attracting attention as a next-generation battery. However, due to the high difficulty of the process, equipment technology is considered a key factor in commercialization. Ninetech expects this achievement to secure a competitive edge in the upcoming all-solid-state battery equipment supply competition.

Ninetech is moving to dominate the market by securing dry electrode manufacturing equipment technology, a key challenge for the commercialization of all-solid-state batteries. All-solid-state batteries utilize solid electrolytes, making it difficult to apply the existing liquid-based wet process. Therefore, the introduction of a dry process that does not use solvents is essential.

The dry electrode manufacturing equipment developed by the company is evaluated as a key solution that contributes to improving the performance of all-solid-state batteries by increasing electrode uniformity and strengthening process stability.

With the recent expansion of physical AI industries that enable self-awareness and movement, such as robotics, autonomous driving, and humanoids, demand for high-performance batteries to power them is rapidly increasing. In existing industrial settings, the limitations of robots requiring recharging after short operating periods have been pointed out. All-solid-state batteries, capable of simultaneously delivering high output and high energy density, are emerging as a viable alternative.
