Aegic Land and Daegu City Sign MOU for Collaboration on Domestic AI Semiconductor Verification and Commercialization

Aegic Land announced on the 12th that it signed a business agreement with Daegu Metropolitan City, related organizations, and promising fabless companies at the Daegu Industrial Complex for the verification and commercialization of domestically produced AI semiconductors.

This agreement aims to secure market competitiveness by supporting the entire process from planning, design, verification, and commercialization of AI semiconductors designed by domestic fabless companies by linking them with demand sources in Daegu's key industries of robotics and mobility.

Under the agreement, Daegu City will be responsible for creating a collaborative environment for demonstration and providing policy support, while participating companies will collaborate to conduct customized AI semiconductor demonstrations for demand companies, link them with industrial sites, and secure references.

As Korea's only TSMC VCA partner, Aegicland plans to apply its advanced process design capabilities and next-generation packaging chiplet technology to support semiconductor designs optimized for local demand. Furthermore, Aegicland will participate in all aspects of the project, including MPW service support, design IP verification, and resolving technical issues during the validation process, serving as a bridge for the commercialization of domestically produced AI semiconductors.

This agreement also includes participation from the Daegu Machinery Parts Research Institute, the Intelligent Automotive Parts Promotion Agency, the Korea Robot Industry Advancement Institute, and Kyungpook National University's Industry-Academia Cooperation Group. These organizations plan to jointly pursue a full-cycle industry-academia-research cooperation system, encompassing demand identification, verification matching, technical consulting, and talent development.

Lee Jong-min, CEO of Aegic Land, said that this agreement will serve as an opportunity to strengthen the foundation for commercialization of domestic AI semiconductors, and that he will contribute to reducing the gap between verification and commercialization and enhancing the competitiveness of the regional AI semiconductor ecosystem.
