Entertech startup Favement (CEO Han Ji-eun), which operates the global K-POP fandom tour platform 'Celetrip', has been selected for 'Global TIPS', a private investment-led technology startup support program of the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and is moving forward with business expansion.
TIPS, hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, is a technology startup incubation program where the government matches research and development (R&D) funding with promising technology startups discovered by private investors. Among these programs, the "Global TIPS" track selects companies with outstanding overseas market entry capabilities. Selected companies will receive a total of 1.6 billion won in R&D and commercialization funding over three years.
Pavement's "Seletrip," a platform used by over 50,000 K-pop and Hallyu fans, is expanding "content tourism," a digital platform that allows fans to follow in the footsteps of artists. Key services include curated maps of artist visits and filming locations, artist-voiced docent services, and customized concert packages for global fans.
Through this global TIPS project, Pavement plans to enhance its AI-based docent technology and personalized curation engine. The goal is to analyze fan activity data and individual travel preferences to design customized itineraries, while leveraging advanced text-to-speech (TTS) technology to provide an immersive docent experience.
Han Ji-eun, CEO of Pavement, announced that the company will further develop its content-AI-tourism convergence model based on its selection as a Global TIPS company and expand its presence in the global market based on the secured R&D resources.
Since its founding, Pavement has rapidly expanded its global fan base and has continued to grow. It recently reached the top 40 in the App Store category and is strengthening its IP-based fan experience business model through collaborations with companies like Weverse, Amorepacific, and FNC Entertainment.
