Kakao Style announced on the 19th that it signed a business agreement with KOTITI Testing & Research Institute, a nationally accredited testing and certification agency, to manage textile quality and enhance reliability, and held a special lecture on 'Online Platform Mixed Quality Management' for its executives and employees.
The special lecture, held on February 5th at the Kakao Style office in Pangyo, was attended by approximately 50 employees, including MDs from fashion platforms ZigZag and Posti. The two companies have been collaborating to strengthen quality control since late last year, and this special lecture marks the first step in implementing the initiative.
Kakao Style has recently prepared training to enhance employees' understanding of fibers and materials and establish a systematic product management system, taking into account the growing importance of product management capabilities amid ongoing controversies over blending ratios, particularly in padding and cashmere products.
In the first part of the training, Jo Na-young, a senior researcher at KOTITI Testing & Research Institute, gave a practical lecture on topics such as down composition, blending ratio notation standards, care labeling methods, and material analysis testing methods.
In Part 2, Woojin Jeong, Head of the Consumer Goods Business Division at KOTITI Testing & Research Institute, provided customized training for companies, focusing on the necessity of textile testing, cases of defective clothing products, and differences between major materials.
A Kakao Style representative stated that they expect this special lecture to increase understanding of the overall quality verification process and provide more accurate guidelines to sellers. They also explained that they will strengthen quality control from the product registration stage and expand collaboration with specialized organizations to secure platform-level expertise.
Founded in 1961, KOTITI Testing & Research Institute provides testing and analysis, quality inspection, product certification, research and development, education and training, and technical support services across diverse industries, including textiles, consumer goods, cosmetics, household chemicals, and environmental safety. Kakao Style plans to gradually expand its regular training and testing programs to enhance the overall competitiveness of its platform.
