MDS Tech, a company specializing in AI embedded solutions, CEOs Lee Chang-yeol and Lee Jeong-seung announced an official partnership with Karl Muggle, CEO of STATS Perform, a global sports AI company, to exclusively provide the official data and video streaming package designated by FIFA to the domestic market. STATS Perform signed a multi-year contract with FIFA in January, becoming the first official data and license-based streaming rights distribution partner in FIFA history.
The agreement includes official match data and licensed live video streaming rights for major FIFA tournaments, including the FIFA World Cup 2026 (48 teams, 104 matches). This marks the first time FIFA has assigned official data and video rights to a single partner.
MDS Tech plans to provide official World Cup data and live broadcast packages to domestic media, digital platforms, and sports information companies, while simultaneously providing technical support and business collaboration. This will support the expansion of various business models, including real-time match information services, data-driven content production, match statistics analysis programs, and enhanced live score services.
Official data provided by Opta, Stats Perform's football data brand, includes high-precision, event-based statistics, including live scores, detailed player and team statistics, match trackers, and match insights. This data will be used as official information across digital platforms, sports media, and live score services.
Meanwhile, to celebrate its designation as an official FIFA partner, MDS Tech is offering a special pricing promotion throughout March. This promotion is available to new contract customers and existing data package upgrade customers, and will support domestic companies in acquiring official data at competitive prices.
The industry predicts that this launch will further accelerate competition in data-based services within the domestic sports and media market.
