Dangjin City Mayor Oh Seong-hwan announced that the AI care robot 'Chorongi' introduced by Mr. Mind to care for the elderly living alone is gaining attention as a smart welfare example as it has shown practical disease detection effects in the field.
Dangjin City recently conducted intensive monitoring of six high-risk seniors using care robots over the past two weeks. A detailed analysis of data collected by Mr. Mind's AI conversation analysis system revealed early signs of dementia in two individuals and severe depression in three. While these individuals showed no outward signs of physical abnormalities, the AI algorithm detected unusual signs in their conversations with "Chorongi," including repetition of certain words, sentence structures suggestive of cognitive decline, and expressions of negative emotions.
As soon as any abnormal symptoms were detected, they were immediately reported to Dangjin City and the implementing agency. The implementing agency will collaborate with local public health centers and administrative welfare centers to provide on-site consultations and detailed examinations. Seniors who test positive will be promptly provided with customized medical services, including registration at the Dementia Care Center and psychological counseling.
Since October of last year, Dangjin City has been expanding the deployment of the AI care robot "Chorongi" to strengthen its 24-hour, non-face-to-face care system. Based on this achievement, the Mister Mind care manager emphasized that AI care robots go beyond simply serving as companions and play a key role in detecting and preventing diseases.
