Wadiz (CEO Shin Hye-sung) announced on the 20th that it successfully completed the 'Wadiz Meetup Tokyo', a funding briefing session targeting promising Japanese companies.
Wadiz, which launched its global service in May of last year, saw its monthly active users (MAU) more than double year-on-year as of January 2026, with approximately 40% of its users coming from over 200 countries, including the US, Japan, and China. Building on this momentum, Wadiz is establishing itself as a platform where startups and innovative brands can proactively assess global consumer demand beyond Korea and secure early customers.
As part of Wadiz's global expansion strategy, the "Wadiz Meetup" is a regular program held in major cities around the world for startups and brands seeking to enter the global market. This Tokyo meetup focused on innovative Japanese brands, sharing their global market entry strategies using Wadiz crowdfunding. The event also included discussions on Asian crowdfunding trends, practical strategies for entering the Korean market, and a Q&A session. Wadiz category owners, speaking as speakers, shared success stories and strategies based on analysis of tens of thousands of funding data sets, garnering a positive response from attendees.
Wadiz plans to hold a meetup in Shenzhen, China in the first half of this year, where it will discover promising local Chinese companies following its Japanese launch and support their expansion into Asian and global markets through Wadiz crowdfunding.
A Wadiz official stated, “Through this briefing, we were able to confirm that Japanese innovative brands are focusing on the Korean market and Wadiz as key sales channels for their global expansion,” and added, “We will expand our role as a bridgehead to discover competitive innovative products in Asia and support their establishment in the global market.”
