On the 20th, AI technology finance company PFCT (PFCT Technologies, CEO Lee Soo-hwan) held an in-house hackathon for all employees. This event was part of a strategic program to expand AI-based execution capabilities across the organization and connect innovative experiments with real-world product competitiveness and customer value.
PFCT is an AI-native organization that integrates AI into all business processes. It provides services to major domestic financial institutions through its AI financial technology, "AIRPACK," and is also expanding into overseas markets. Within the company, it has also utilized various generative AI tools and proprietary AI tools to enhance work productivity and decision-making processes.
This hackathon brought together 27 individuals and 14 teams. Cross-functional teams comprised of developers, designers, PMs, business development, and creditors, leveraging AI from problem definition to implementation. The CEO and executives also participated, emphasizing that AI-based problem solving is not limited to specific job functions but rather a capability for the entire organization.
The hackathon, which was conducted without any restrictions on topics, required prototypes to be developed in areas related to PFCT's on-to-finance platform, "K-PL," including AI/ML-based services, data analysis, web and app services, internal automation tools, and conversational AI. The judging process focused on innovation, practicality, and presentation skills, with a focus on the potential for solving real-world business problems and the platform's applicability.
The final winner was Team "06," which developed a simulation game based on interaction with a character from the K-Pop Financial Advisory service. Designed to allow users to experience the impact of their financial choices on their lives, the work was recognized for its innovation and practicality. PFCT plans to review the winning entry for commercialization potential and incorporate it into its regular development process, granting the winning team ongoing ownership.
CEO Lee Soo-hwan stated, "This hackathon is an action plan to expand AI-based innovation experiments and connect them to customer-facing products. We will continue to strengthen our leadership as a global AI financial technology company through AI-centric experiments and implementations."
