Google Play is recruiting participants for its 8th "Changbo Program" for mobile app and game startups.

Google Play is recruiting developers for the 8th round of its "Changgu Program," which supports the growth of domestic mobile app and game startups, from February 27 to March 16.

The "Changgu Program" is a startup growth support program jointly operated by Google Play, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and the Korea Institute of Startups and Entrepreneurship Development. Since its launch in 2019, a cumulative 660 startups have participated through its seven sessions. Among the public-private partnership startup support programs, "AroundX," Korea's leading startup support program, this program has produced the most graduates.

Developers selected for the 8th round will receive a variety of support for overseas market expansion, monetization, and service advancement. Key benefits include: growth support seminars, in-depth one-on-one consulting for overseas market strategy and technology advancement, a networking event called "Changgu Alumni Day," VC investment consulting office hours, and cloud credit for app development and deployment.

Support for AI-based innovation developers will also be strengthened. Participants will be able to integrate Google's latest AI technologies into their businesses through AI-specific training and workshops, and opportunities to participate in various sessions and events will be expanded.

Top participants will gain local market insights, marketing strategies, and networking opportunities with investors and organizations through the global training program "Immersion Trip." Furthermore, they can expect tangible marketing results through participation in Google Play brand advertising and performance campaigns. By 2025, participating companies had achieved approximately 20% install conversion rates and 228,000 new downloads.

Eligible for the 8th program are mobile app/game developers with less than 7 years of experience as of the announcement date, or AI-based mobile app/game developers with less than 10 years of experience. Detailed requirements and application methods can be found on the K-Startup Startup Support Portal.
