Physical AI company Realworld (CEO Ryu Jung-hee) is joining the government's 'Independent AI Foundation Model (Dokpamo)' cooperative ecosystem through the Upstage Consortium.
In this collaboration, RealWorld will define the technical requirements for a Vision and Language Model (VLM) for robot control optimization and integration with the Robotics Foundation Model (RFM), identify domain-specific economic and technical feasibility tasks, and design RFM validation scenarios and test protocols. This will expand the Upstage model into the physical AI domain and validate its application in real-world industrial settings.
Founded in 2024, Realworld has established a "4D+" multimodal data collection pipeline utilizing cameras and tactile gloves in manufacturing and logistics settings. Based on this, the company is developing a robotics foundation model, "RLDX," capable of performing robotic hand tasks, and plans to launch its own model in the first half of this year. Furthermore, its technological prowess was recognized by winning first place in the foundation model category at the "Nebius Robotics & Physical AI Awards," a global robotics and physical AI competition.
“For a proprietary AI model to gain industry trust, reproducibility is as important as performance,” said CEO Ryu Joong-hee. “Through participation in the collaborative ecosystem, we will refine VLM requirements and RFM verification scenarios, and establish a verification path for K-AI’s performance to lead to robot field automation.”
