Weissen successfully demonstrated its AI endoscope, the WayMed Endo, live at the UAE Endoscopy Conference.

AI medtech company Waysen announced on the 23rd that it presented a live demo of its AI endoscope 'WAYMED ENDO' CADx at the Elegance Society GI Bridge held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) on February 13th.

This live demonstration was led by Majda Bukhari, Director of the Endoscopy Center at Dr. Sulaiman Al Habib Hospital, a leading medical institution in the UAE. Through a live demonstration of a gastrointestinal and colonoscopy case, the company demonstrated the performance of lesion detection (CADe) and tissue classification (CADx), engaging in in-depth discussions with panelists. The AI's decision-making process, which instantly analyzes and presents various lesions in a real-world clinical setting, was also shared.

On the second day of the conference, Dr. Min Jun-ki, director of Cecil Internal Medicine, presented on the clinical effectiveness of WayMed Endo. Sharing real-world clinical cases and data-driven findings, he explained the diagnostic efficiency of AI-assisted endoscopy and its value in supporting medical decision-making.

The Elegance Society GI Bridge is a leading endoscopic conference in the Middle East. It serves as an international platform for female endoscopists to share their clinical expertise and cutting-edge technologies. Beyond mere academic presentations, the conference focuses on live sessions that demonstrate practical techniques and skills.

In this demonstration, Weissense emphasized its ability to reliably detect and classify lesions across a variety of equipment environments, regardless of endoscope manufacturer. It demonstrated consistent performance across both gastric and colonic cases, demonstrating its clinical value as an AI-based real-time decision support solution.

At the event, numerous Middle Eastern medical professionals and hospital officials visited the booth to conduct additional demonstrations and discuss collaboration. Weisen expects this conference to serve as an opportunity to expand partnerships and create business opportunities within the UAE and the GCC (Gulf Cooperation Council) region.

Waysen CEO Kim Kyung-nam said, “Through the live demo, we were able to directly confirm the stability and versatility of Waymed Endo,” and added, “As the clinical utility and necessity of AI endoscopes are spreading in the Middle Eastern market, we will collaborate with local medical professionals to create new business opportunities.”

Weissen is strengthening its position in overseas markets by expanding the clinical applications of AI endoscopy through global academic conferences and live demonstrations.
