Genon announced on the 25th that it completed the establishment of its Indonesian subsidiary, PT. Genon Global Indonesia, on the 24th and held an office opening ceremony in Jakarta. Kim Tae-ryong, Overseas Business Development Lead, who has spearheaded overseas market development and business development, was appointed as the first president of the new corporation.
The establishment of this corporation is significant not only because it secures an overseas base but also because it is an extension of the global expansion strategy pursued over the past three years. Since 2023, Xenon has been conducting proof-of-concept (PoC) tests for its vision AI-based quality inspection automation solution targeting shoe manufacturing plants of global fashion brands at home and abroad, accumulating its overseas business capabilities. Since last year, Xenon has achieved sales results in related businesses, securing both technological competitiveness and profitability.
The establishment of the Indonesian subsidiary was driven by the fact that the supply of AI solutions remains in its infancy compared to the local industry's growth rate. With the growing demand for digital transformation in this massive market of approximately 270 million people, the strategy is to secure a competitive advantage through preemptive market entry.
Based on this new base, Xenon plans to fully launch local supply of vision AI-based quality management solutions while diversifying its business with work automation solutions leveraging generative AI. The company also plans to expand its global business base by expanding into key Southeast Asian countries such as Singapore, Vietnam, and Malaysia.
“We have laid the foundation for a stable entry into the Indonesian market through three years of preparation, rather than a short-term market entry,” said Ko Seok-tae, CEO of Xenon. “Based on our proven AI technology and business capabilities, we will leap forward as a partner leading the AX transition in the Southeast Asian manufacturing and public sectors.”
