JLK (CEO Dongmin Kim) announced on February 25th that it has received government approval to directly sell medical AI solutions in the Japanese market through its local subsidiary, JLK JAPAN. This approval allows JLK to directly market and contract with Japanese medical institutions, paving the way for a full-scale expansion into the Japanese market.
JLK has secured seven medical AI solutions approved by the PMDA and has been progressing through approvals in stages, ensuring they meet safety, efficacy, and reliability requirements. With this direct sales approval, JLK has established a system capable of handling product supply, contracts, and post-sales management locally.
This approval is part of a two-track strategy that aims to complement and complement existing partnerships with direct sales. JLK plans to strengthen its direct sales to major medical institutions, centered around JLK JAPAN, while maintaining its existing partnership model with partners like Creabo and Century Medical Inc. (CMI) to accelerate market penetration.
In particular, the AI solution supporting stroke diagnosis and treatment decision-making comprises a multi-solution portfolio, reflecting the practical usability and clinical workflows of Japanese medical settings. The direct sales system, based on seven PMDA-approved solutions, is expected to play a key role in long-term business expansion and establishing a stable sales structure.
Masayuki Kudo, General Manager of JLK JAPAN Business Headquarters, said, “With the direct sales permit, we will be able to accelerate our entry into the Japanese market,” and “We will lead sales expansion based on the experience we have accumulated at GE, Siemens, and Marubeni affiliates in the past.”
Kim Dong-min, CEO of JLK, said, “Based on our direct sales license and PMDA-approved solution, we have been able to establish ourselves as an independent business entity in the Japanese market,” and added, “We will simultaneously strengthen our growth rate and profitability through a two-track strategy.”
