DeepBrain AI (CEO Se-young Jang) announced on February 25th that it has participated in the International Joint Research and Development Project for Digital Innovation Technology promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and has begun building a global deepfake detection SaaS platform.
This project is an international collaborative research and development initiative, running until August 2028. Sungkyunkwan University is the lead institution, with DeepBrain AI participating as a co-developer. Overseas research institutions include Singapore Management University and Ensign InfoSecurity.
DeepBrain AI's deepfake detection solution verifies and responds to the authenticity of illegally manipulated videos spreading online. It is already available in Korea as a subscription-based SaaS solution, allowing businesses and organizations to utilize it without the need for separate system setup. API integration allows for integration with various systems, including those in the media, finance, and public institutions, and enables rapid detection of large amounts of data.
Through this international joint research, the company plans to enhance its existing technology and expand it into a SaaS platform that operates reliably in a global environment. Korea and Singapore will jointly pursue data collection and synthesis to secure manipulation scenarios reflecting diverse languages, cultures, and dialects, and will integrate deepfake generation and detection technologies to design a strategic attack and defense structure.
CEO Jang Se-young said, “Deepfake threats are spreading without borders or language barriers, so we need to advance detection technology through global cooperation,” adding, “Through this joint research, we will build a detection platform that is trusted even overseas.”
