XYG Selected as a Key Participant in a National Project Consortium to Develop an Independent AI Foundation Model

Physical AI specialist company XYG Co., Ltd. (CEO Seongjae Hwang) has been selected as a key participant in the consortium for the national project to develop the 'Independent AI Foundation Model (Dokpamo)' promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT.

The Dokpamo Project is a national initiative aimed at reducing reliance on foreign technology and securing an independent AI foundation model. It will begin with the development of a large-scale language model and gradually expand to multimodal models and behavioral AI. With the addition of Motif Technologies, following the initial evaluations by LG AI Research Institute, Upstage, and SK Telecom, the project will operate as a competitive system, with a total of four participating teams.

The Motif Technologies consortium, in which XyG participates, has a full-stack collaborative system comprised of AI infrastructure, data construction, and academia. Among them, XyG is responsible for applying VLA (Vision-Language-Action)-based robotics.

Xyzy will provide foundation model training with large-scale real-world data accumulated through robots operating across the country. It also plans to collect and process multimodal data generated during human-robot interactions, as well as precision manipulation data using its proprietary GloveX device, to enhance the performance of Physical AI models.

The developed model will be applied to various form factors, including collaborative service robots and the semi-humanoid robot DEUX. This will enable field demonstrations of AI technology operating in real-world physical environments and lay the foundation for its widespread adoption.

The government plans to examine model performance through step-by-step evaluations in the future and select final support recipients through a competitive process.
