PharmCle signs contract with Defense Acquisition Program Administration to develop powdered rapid decontamination system

Pharmcle Co., Ltd. (CEO Jeon Chan-min), a company specializing in lifestyle quarantine and insecticide/sterilization solutions, announced that it has signed a contract with the Defense Acquisition Program Administration for the ‘Powder-Type Rapid Disinfectant System Development Project’ and has begun full-scale development.

This project is a key national defense initiative aimed at strengthening the military's response capabilities to chemical and biological threats. The powdered rapid decontamination agent being developed by Pamcle is a high-performance decontamination agent that can be sprayed on military equipment or operational areas contaminated with chemical agents to quickly neutralize their toxicity. It can be used immediately, even in waterless environments, and its increased portability enhances field operational efficiency.

The decontaminant falls under the chemical, biological, and radiological weapon system defense category in the defense industry. While not a direct offensive weapon, it serves as a defensive asset to protect friendly forces' personnel and equipment in the event of a chemical attack. This contract signifies that Pamcle's technology has met the MIL-SPEC military standard established by the U.S. Department of Defense, marking its entry into the real-world application of military weapon systems.

Powdered disinfectants require sophisticated technology that simultaneously ensures strong adsorption and neutralization performance while also being non-corrosive to military equipment such as metals and rubber. PharmCl plans to pursue system development based on its 36 years of experience in chemical compounding and stabilization technologies in the insecticide and disinfectant fields, as well as its expertise in aerosol spray systems.

CEO Jeon Chan-min said that this contract is an example of the company's quarantine technology being recognized as a technology in the defense sector, and that the company will strengthen its competitiveness in the chemical, biological, and radiological defense field through cooperation with related organizations such as the Agency for Defense Development.
