Quantum standard technology specialist SDT (CEO Jiwon Yoon) signed a business agreement with Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, Gumi City, Kyungwoon University, Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute, and Mobilint to promote security innovation in the next-generation unmanned vehicle industry. The signing ceremony was held at the Sarim Room of the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office on February 27th, and key officials including SDT CEO Jiwon Yoon, Gyeongsangbuk-do Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs Geumhee Yang, Gumi Deputy Mayor Seonghyeon Jeong, Kyungwoon University Vice President Hosung Choi, Gumi Electronics and Information Technology Institute President Chuyeon Moon, and Mobilint CEO Dongju Shin attended.
This collaboration aims to simultaneously secure the security and intelligent performance of unmanned vehicles such as drones by integrating SDT's quantum random number generation (QRNG) technology with Mobilint's AI semiconductor technology, and to foster a regional quantum industry ecosystem. The six organizations will pursue ▲joint R&D related to quantum security and AI-based drones ▲proving and commercializing public security drones ▲creating a regional industry-linked quantum industry ecosystem ▲training professionals in advanced science and technology.
SDT will integrate QRNG-based security cameras and communication modules into drone systems to create a secure data transmission environment free from eavesdropping and hacking threats. It will also develop software-based QRNG to enhance unmanned vehicle security technology. Mobilint will utilize AI semiconductors and on-device AI technology to support real-time target identification and autonomous flight for drones, while Kyungwoon University will provide airframe design and control, performance evaluation R&D, and demonstration infrastructure. Gyeongsangbuk-do Province and Gumi City will encourage participation from related companies and provide administrative and financial support.
SDT CEO Jiwon Yoon said, “This collaboration is a meaningful example of industry-academia-government collaboration that applies quantum security technology to the unmanned vehicle field and strengthens security in the public and military sectors.” He added, “It will go beyond simple technology development and contribute to strengthening the competitiveness of regional specialized industries and expanding the domestic quantum industry ecosystem.”
