Smac, a specialized machine tool company, announced on the 3rd that it has signed a machine tool supply contract worth a total of 22 billion won with its distributor, Sale MT Co., Ltd. Sale MT Co., Ltd., a Smac distributor, supplies semiconductor-specific equipment to major domestic semiconductor ceramic material companies, generating over 90% of its sales from this business segment.
This contract includes the supply of a total of 110 high-end machining centers, representing an unusually large volume for a single contract. It represents 10.96% of the company's performance by the end of 2024 and 14.37% by the end of 2025.
The supplied equipment is a premium machining center featuring a high-rigidity structure and high-precision control technology. This allows for process integration based on "One Setup," which performs complex and multi-faceted machining in a single setup. This reduces inter-process movement and resetting time, while high-precision control and vibration-suppressing design ensure high precision and stability in the machining of semiconductor and IT components requiring fine tolerances. Furthermore, the system's design simultaneously improves both labor efficiency and installation space efficiency.
In particular, the MAAC series, which accounts for the majority of deliveries, is a product line with enhanced customer-tailored service and will be supplied entirely to a leading domestic semiconductor ceramic processing company. A SMAC representative stated, "This large-scale order is the result of our bold R&D investment and management strategy. We anticipate continued growth in future orders, driven by the semiconductor market recovery and growing demand for related equipment."
Contracted quantities will be delivered sequentially starting in May, and sales will be recognized in stages according to the delivery schedule. The company plans to systematize its production schedule and supply management to ensure a stable revenue stream.
SMACK plans to continuously expand the proportion of high-precision, high-spec equipment, strengthen its precision processing solution capabilities, and actively target the global market, focusing on cutting-edge industries such as semiconductors, IT, and aerospace.
