Cowintech Signs Contract with Seojin Systems to Supply ESS Logistics Robots

Cowintech announced that it has signed a 20.4 billion won contract with Seojin Systems for the turnkey supply of ESS logistics robots and automation systems to the United States.

The contract amount represents 13.2% of Cowintech's projected consolidated sales for 2025. Under the agreement, Cowintech will supply a turnkey robotic system for ESS module automation by October 23.

The scope of supply includes dozens of autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) of various types, including low-profile and forklift robots, along with the company's proprietary Robot Control System (RCS) advanced control software. RCS is an integrated automation solution that controls the real-time path of mobile robots.

Cowintech explained that its experience in building ESS assembly robots and ultra-heavy AMRs to handle ESS manufacturing lines, which it won last year, influenced this contract.

The company said it is securing new orders centered on next-generation mobility, ESS, robotics, and renewable energy sectors linked to the growing demand for batteries and electrification, and is also expanding its business areas to traditional manufacturing sectors such as automobiles, semiconductors, and food.

A Cowintech representative described this order as an early success for the AI robot foundry system in collaboration with Seojin Systems, and expressed hope for additional orders based on deliveries to global ESS customers. The company added that it plans to expand the scope of its collaboration, starting with the ESS business, to include the semiconductor business.

In addition, the company is pursuing a lead in the mobile robot market based on the driving mechanism and design/control technology of its self-developed autonomous mobile robots, and plans to achieve performance growth through securing orders and commercializing mass production lines for next-generation mobile robots such as MRX, OHMS, and Hybrid Storage Robot.
