ZD Ventures (CEO Ha-kyung Kim), an early-stage startup investment firm, announced on the 4th that it had made a pre-seed investment in Vivadios (CEO Min-seok Lee), a global B2C-based Christian startup. The specific investment size was not disclosed. Patriot Fund, a joint venture between ZDVC, Base Ventures, and EO Studio, participated as a new investor in this round.
Vivadios aims to digitally transform (DX) the faith sector, developing services that leverage artificial intelligence (AI) to reimagine the faith experience for Christians worldwide. Vivadios combines AI-powered conversational features, short-form content, and personalized technology to create a more intuitive and immersive way to engage with the Bible.
GD Ventures explained that it decided to invest because it highly valued the company's AI-powered approach to transforming the global Christian app market, which has been slow to transition to digital. While the global Christian population is estimated at approximately 2.6 billion, the app market remains largely focused on improving user interfaces (UIs) and enhancing video and audio content.
Kim Ha-kyung, CEO of GD Ventures, explained that the global Christian market aligns with her investment philosophy, as it represents a long-term, sustainable industry. She also stated that Lee Min-seok's business acumen and market understanding were key factors in her investment decision. Kim Tae-yong, partner at Patriot Fund, also expressed his support for this investment, praising Lee's execution skills and pioneering experience.
In recent global markets, AI-based religious, meditation, and wellness platforms are rapidly expanding, and competition among related startups to enhance their services is intensifying.
