Caring Launches Beta Service for "AI Mind Care," an AI phone that listens and empathizes.

Senior care specialist Caring (CEO Taeseong Kim) announced on the 4th that it has launched the beta version of 'AI Mind Care,' an AI phone service that focuses on listening and empathizing conversations for the elderly.

AI Mind Care is a program designed to provide an enjoyable conversation experience for elderly people living alone and to reduce the gap in caregiving through continuous communication using IT technology. Caring, based on expertise accumulated over the past seven years in the care field, was designed to enable AI to act as a companion who listens, acknowledges, and empathizes. Reminiscence therapy and motivational counseling techniques were applied.

In a pilot program conducted in January of this year, the average call time with a senior citizen was approximately nine minutes, with some participants responding with comments like, "Thank you for listening," and "I've been waiting for your call." The conversations were compiled into a letter and provided to the guardians.

Caring will begin piloting AI mind care for residents of its senior residence, "Caring Stay," starting this month, and plans to expand the service to approximately 2,000 people, including those receiving home care, by the end of the year. Furthermore, for seniors who request it, Caring will provide a 24-hour communication channel to help address the care gap.

Kim Tae-seong, CEO of Caring, said, “Concerns about the gap in care services are growing due to the advent of a super-aged society and a shortage of human resources,” and added, “We will actively introduce innovative technologies such as AI, robots, and data into the field to improve the quality of care services.”
