Tomato Systems Completes Digital Transformation of Dongyang Mirae University's Academic Administration Information System

Tomato System (CEO Gil-ju Cho) announced on the 4th that it has completed the project to transform the academic administration information system environment and improve academic affairs at Dongyang Mirae University, and has been operating the new system in earnest since February.

This project, implemented in stages over two years, aimed to transform the existing, outdated system into an integrated platform based on the latest web standards, while also enhancing the student-centered user experience and digitizing academic administration. Tomato Systems oversaw the entire process, from planning to development, implementation, and stabilization. Leveraging its proprietary UI development platform, "Xbuilder 6," and automated conversion tools, Tomato Systems ensured completeness and stability. Furthermore, the existing source code was converted to the latest web standards and a mobile academic service environment was established, improving system scalability and maintenance efficiency.

Another notable achievement is the improvement of student-centered academic services. Core academic services, such as course registration and grade tracking, have been optimized for mobile devices, providing the same convenience as on a PC. Key application processes have also been moved online, reducing the inconvenience of in-person visits and paper submissions. This has created an environment where academic services can be accessed regardless of time or location.

The working environment for faculty and staff has also improved. Computerizing some previously manual tasks has reduced repetitive tasks and shortened processing times, from class management to graduation assessments. The computerization of student application processes has also reduced the number of in-person visits, improving administrative efficiency and work focus.

President Kim Kyo-il of Dongyang Mirae University said, “This system advancement project is a core foundational project that simultaneously achieves student-centered service innovation and administrative efficiency,” and added, “It has established a turning point for the university to leap forward as a digital smart campus based on a stable and expandable academic system.”

Tomato System CEO Gil-Joo Cho said, “We successfully completed this project based on the trust we have built over the past 17 years since the establishment of the academic administration information system in 2008,” and “We plan to continue to support the digital transformation (DX) of domestic universities based on our experience at over 100 universities, including Jeonbuk National University and Wonkwang University.”

In the domestic university digital transformation market, competition is unfolding between AI and web-based academic administration platforms.
