Platier wins contract with KT and Jeju Bank to build GenAI platform, supplying XGEN to financial sector

Platier announced on the 4th that it has formed a consortium with KT to win the contract for Jeju Bank's 'GenAI Platform Construction Project' and will supply its agentic AI platform 'XGEN'. This follows the recent introduction of agentic AI services to Lotte Home Shopping, and shows that the company's AI business area is expanding beyond distribution and into the financial sector.

Jeju Bank plans to accelerate its digital financial system transformation through the establishment of this platform. Specifically, it plans to implement a company-wide "one department, one agent" system after implementation. To achieve this, the bank has set forth key goals: creating an employee-friendly AI work environment, establishing a data-driven decision-making system, and implementing customer-centric, intelligent financial services.

Jeju Bank selected the KT-Plater consortium as its operator to meet the financial sector's stringent security regulatory requirements. XGEN's strengths include its support for on-premise environments and network separation structures, and its sophisticated access control policies designed to prevent internal data leaks. Furthermore, it offers a no-code visual canvas editor, enabling even non-developers to design and operate business-critical AI agents using drag-and-drop functionality.

Beyond a simple question-and-answer chatbot, XGEN will be utilized as an AI agent platform that assists with practical financial tasks. Building on this foundation, the company plans to gradually apply AI across core operations, including supporting audit report writing, automating internal controls and continuous monitoring, and conducting Know Your Customer (KYC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) analysis. Through this, the company expects to increase work efficiency, enhance the personalization and speed of customer contact services, and enhance productivity in risk management.

Jin Byeong-gwon, Head of Platire ECS AX Business Division, explained that this project demonstrates XGEN's applicability even in the strict security environment of the financial sector. He went on to say that the company will strengthen its vertical AI strategy optimized for industry-specific regulations and business characteristics to expand its scope of application to various fields such as manufacturing, energy, pharmaceuticals, and defense.

Platier, in collaboration with KT, is pursuing a strategy to standardize industry-specific AI templates. Building on templates accumulated in the distribution and e-commerce sectors, Platier aims to rapidly expand its AI platform to highly regulated industries such as finance, manufacturing, and the public sector. The company anticipates that this Jeju Bank case will serve as a key reference for future expansion across the financial sector and other highly regulated industries.

Recently, competition to build platforms for introducing generative AI has intensified in the domestic financial sector, and collaborations between major commercial banks and IT companies are also on the rise.
