M2I and SM Core to Participate in 'Automation World 2026'

M2I and SM Core announced their joint participation in Automation World 2026, held at COEX in Seoul from March 4th to 6th. At the exhibition, the two companies plan to introduce integrated AI-based autonomous manufacturing solutions.

Automation World 2026 is a specialized exhibition for smart factories and the automation industry, with approximately 500 companies participating in 2,300 booths. The exhibition showcases smart factories, industrial robots, AI-based manufacturing, and logistics automation technologies. This year, physical AI, autonomous manufacturing, and humanoid robots are expected to be key themes.

M2I and SM Core plan to showcase a value chain that integrates smart factory solutions, logistics and process automation equipment, robotics, and control technologies. M2I will provide the smart factory platform and robot controllers, while SM Core will be responsible for logistics and process automation equipment and robotic systems, providing the core elements necessary for implementing autonomous manufacturing.

Officials from both companies explained, “In the era of AI autonomous manufacturing, smart factory platforms, automated facilities, robots, and control technologies must be organically linked,” and “By integrating the technologies of both companies, we will present an integrated autonomous manufacturing model that includes facilities, control, and logistics.”

Both companies count SK Hynix as a key customer, and M2I generates approximately 50% of its smart factory revenue from semiconductors. SM Core has also maintained SK Hynix as a key customer since its days as an SK Group affiliate.

Officials from both companies stated, “With the recent recovery of the semiconductor industry, our customers are resuming facility investments. M2I is seeing improved performance thanks to increased semiconductor investment, and SM Core has also secured large-scale orders in the semiconductor, overseas logistics systems, and robotics sectors, recording an order backlog exceeding KRW 200 billion as of the end of February 2026. If the combined capabilities of both companies are proven in the market, we expect a more pronounced performance recovery starting this year.”

Meanwhile, the industrial sector is actively developing AI and autonomous manufacturing solutions in the fields of smart factories and logistics automation.
