South Korean razor manufacturer Dorco announced on the 4th that its premium brand 'SLEEK' was selected as the 'Global Flagship Razor' in the personal category of the 2025 Good Design Awards.
The Good Design Awards, hosted by the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design, are an international design awards ceremony with a long history, established in 1950. Over 1,000 products from over 50 countries are submitted, and the judging process comprehensively evaluates not only design perfection but also innovation, functionality, usability, and sustainability.
Dorco explained that this award represents international recognition of its design capabilities and technological prowess, which it has cultivated over many years. "Slick" conducted consumer research in Europe, Asia, and North America during the product planning stage, and prototype testing was used to refine the design, materials, and usability.
The product features a metal handle for a secure grip, and its simple exterior and luxurious finish enhance the design. Functionally, the "Super Thin Blade" is approximately 30% thinner than the previous model, reducing skin irritation and enhancing cutting efficiency. This technology has been patented in Korea, Europe, and the United States. Furthermore, the "Nano Crystal Hard Coating" enhances durability, the "Double Layer Lubrication Band" reduces friction during shaving, and the design is designed for easy cleaning, improving hygiene.
A company official said that this award is a recognition of both the product's technological prowess and design competitiveness, and that the company will continue to improve product performance and usability through research and development and production innovation.
