Buy It, selected by Japan's J-Startup Central

Sajoo (CEO Gilmaro) was selected for the startup support program 'J-Startup Central' hosted by the Central Japan Startup Ecosystem Consortium.

J-Startup Central is a program that fosters startups in the Chubu region, aiming for global expansion, through collaboration between local governments, universities, and companies in Aichi Prefecture, Nagoya City, and Hamamatsu City. The screening process involves venture capitalists, accelerators, and innovation departments from major Japanese companies, and comprehensively evaluates companies' growth potential and technological prowess.

Selected companies will be granted the right to bid on central government procurement projects and receive bonus points when applying for various subsidies and research and development (R&D) projects supported by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry. They will also be eligible to be recommended for "J-Startup," a nationwide startup support program. This linkage between local startup incubation programs and the national support system will contribute to corporate growth.

Sajoo is a cross-border commerce platform that leverages AI to provide a personalized shopping experience for consumers in both Korea and Japan. The platform translates and localizes detailed product descriptions and purchase options simply by entering a URL, making it easy for even beginners to directly purchase products. It also features automatic calculations of customs fees, duties, and shipping costs. The company plans to expand its service to key global markets, including the US and Europe.

Gilmaro, the CEO of Sajoo, said, “As the volume of orders for Korean and Japanese services is rapidly increasing, we are expanding our logistics line, and following the 710 million yen investment last year, we plan to secure additional funds within the first half of the year.” He added, “We plan to use the investment funds to improve our services and expand into the global market.”

Meanwhile, as competition among AI-based direct and reverse direct purchase platforms intensifies in the global e-commerce market, there is a growing number of cases of technological prowess verification and overseas market entry support through startup support programs.
