Himpel, a company specializing in ventilation appliances, announced on the 9th that it had been selected as the winner of the main prize in the product design category at the iF Design Award 2026, a world-renowned design competition.
The iF Design Award, hosted by the International Forum Design in Germany, began in 1953 as an international design award ceremony. Considered one of the world's top three design awards, along with Germany's Red Dot Design Award and the United States' IDEA, winners are selected through a comprehensive evaluation of design perfection, functionality, and user experience across a wide range of fields, including product design, packaging, and services.
At this awards ceremony, Himpel received the grand prize in the product design category for two products: the system ventilation purifier Huben ECO and the bathroom ventilation appliance Huzente Nova.
The Huben ECO is a system ventilation purifier that provides automatic ventilation based on an air quality sensor. It features a color pattern that visually displays the direction of airflow, making it easy for users to understand airflow. It also offers customized ventilation modes and a simple design that blends seamlessly with living spaces, earning praise for its design and functionality.
The Hughes Nova is a bathroom ventilation appliance that combines ventilation, heating, dehumidification, and drying functions in a single unit. The front features a satin glass finish that resists fingerprints and stains, creating a luxurious texture and emphasizing a design that blends seamlessly into the bathroom. Its minimalist design and functional design, which take into account user lifestyles, also received high praise.
A Himpel representative explained that this award represents international recognition for not only its ventilation technology but also its product design competitiveness. They added that, based on their brand slogan, "A Breathable Home," they plan to continue pursuing innovations in ventilation technology and design to improve indoor air quality.
With growing interest in indoor air quality management, market demand for ventilation systems and air management appliances is steadily increasing. In particular, competition for premium ventilation appliances that prioritize design and spatial harmony in addition to functionality is intensifying in the global home appliance market.
