Smart device company Garmin is running the 'Garmin with Her' campaign to support women's healthy daily lives and self-directed lifestyles in commemoration of International Women's Day throughout the month of March.
This campaign was designed to highlight features that allow users to manage their health based on various biometric data, including sleep, stress, heart rate variability (HRV), and skin temperature. Garmin provides users with health management information based on data collected through wearable devices, and shares this data with research institutes and digital health companies to develop solutions related to women's health.
Analysis of data from Garmin Connect, Garmin's health and fitness activity analysis app, reveals that Korean women's exercise patterns are becoming increasingly active and diverse. Among activity types, running, swimming, and walking are the most popular, with running activity records in particular growing rapidly in recent years, establishing itself as a leading form of exercise.
Participation in relatively high-intensity activities, such as trail running and high-intensity interval training (HIIT), has also increased. Wellness-focused exercises like yoga and Pilates are also steadily expanding, indicating a growing trend toward a data-driven lifestyle focused on understanding and managing one's physical condition.
Garmin also runs a variety of online and offline programs during the campaign period. A prime example is a community class where participants can wear a Garmin watch and experience key wellness features. On the 7th, a fitness session led by Team Garmin coach Seo Ha-yan allowed participants to check real-time exercise data and assess their intensity and pace.
On the 21st, a running class led by coach Yeonjin Lee of the Garmin Run Club (GRC) is scheduled, and participants are expected to experience a systematic training method using the running function of the Garmin watch.
An online event has also been organized. Until March 15th, a workout certification event will be held for followers of Garmin Korea's official Instagram account. Participants can participate by posting workouts symbolizing the number "3.8," such as a 3.8km run, a 38km cycle, or 38 minutes of yoga. Sharing the post to your story or tagging a workout partner in the comments will increase your chances of winning. A total of seven winners will be selected to win a vívoactive 6 smartwatch, Garmin merchandise, or a Kaylas Balance Shake.
In addition, a discount promotion will be held for the wellness smartwatch lineup until March 31st. Enter the discount code 'GARMINWOMEN' to purchase products specialized in health and fitness functions, such as the Venue 4 (41mm), Venue X1, Lily 2 Active, and Vivoactive 6, at a discounted price.
Nelson Chen, General Manager of Garmin Korea, said, “Garmin smartwatches not only measure exercise data, but also provide health management functions that take into account individual physical changes and lifestyles,” adding, “We hope that this campaign will serve as an opportunity for female users to more actively manage their health.”
Meanwhile, as the wearable device and digital healthcare markets grow rapidly, interest in personalized healthcare services based on biometric data is also steadily expanding.
