Nutzy Healthcare Co., Ltd.'s employee assistance program (EAP) specialized subsidiary, Dain Co., Ltd., announced on the 9th that it had obtained 'ISO 45003 (Psychosocial Risk Management)' certification from the Korea Management Certification Institute (KMR).
ISO 45003 is an international standard that defines the areas that companies must manage for psychological risks that can arise within organizations, such as job stress, burnout, workplace bullying, and emotional labor. While existing industrial safety management systems focus on accidents and physical risks, this standard is unique in that it evaluates organizational-level prevention and management systems, including the psychological well-being of employees.
This certification covers the development and operation of an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and the provision of psychological counseling services. This officially recognizes that DAIN's core business areas have management systems that meet international standards.
ISO 45003 is still in its early stages of adoption in Korea, with implementation primarily focused on public institutions. DAIN explained that it achieved certification by incorporating data-driven risk assessments, immediate response processes, and regular management reviews into its operational processes, going beyond simple document-based certification.
This operating system is considered significant in that it has established a structure that can proactively identify and manage psychosocial risks within the organization.
As employee mental health issues in recent corporate environments increasingly become legal responsibilities and ESG management factors, Dain plans to expand its digital EAP operating model based on the ISO 45003 standard. This will enable client companies to implement risk management systems related to employee mental health without the need for separate systems.
We also plan to gradually expand the establishment of a psychosocial risk management system that companies can utilize for responding to major disasters, managing labor risks, and reporting on environmental, social, and governance (ESG).
Song Min-kyung, CEO of Dain, explained that this certification is an example that shows that the employee mental health management system can be applied as an actual organizational operation system rather than just at a declarative level, and announced that through 'NudgeEAP', they will support companies in establishing a psychosocial risk management system that meets the ISO 45003 standard.
In recent corporate management, employee mental health management and psychological safety have emerged as key elements of ESG and industrial safety management, leading to a growing trend of introducing related certifications and organizational management systems.
