The Ventures Signs Strategic Agreement with China's Z.ai to Collaborate on Supporting Global AI Startups

The Ventures announced on the 10th that it has signed a strategic memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Chinese artificial intelligence company Z.ai to support the global AI startup ecosystem. Z.ai is an AI company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange.

This agreement aims to discover promising AI startups and support their growth by linking the two companies' startup incubation programs and technological infrastructure. Z.ai recently established a support program for startups, allowing participating companies to utilize its core AI technology infrastructure, including the giant language model (LLM) GLM-5. This is expected to enable Korean startups to develop services and secure technological competitiveness based on the latest AI technology environment.

Through this collaboration, the two companies will provide AI-based startups with access to Z.ai's technological infrastructure and APIs. Furthermore, they will operate a global scale-up mentoring program that combines The Ventures' startup incubation experience with Z.ai's AI technology capabilities. They will also build a community to foster technological exchange and expand networks between Korean and international startups.

Kim Chul-woo, CEO of The Ventures, said, “By utilizing Z.ai’s high-performance AI infrastructure, we have established a foundation for AI startups to quickly develop technology and expand their services.” He added, “We plan to continue expanding our cooperation to help domestic startups utilize diverse AI technology environments and connect with the global market.”

“There are many startups with technological capabilities in Korea, and our goal is to work with them to grow the AI ecosystem together,” said Logi Gong, Manager of Z.ai’s Startup Ecosystem. “We plan to work with The Ventures to support early-stage companies to grow in line with the global AI technology trend.”

Through this collaboration, The Ventures plans to strengthen the global competitiveness of its portfolio companies and expand its partnerships with overseas technology companies. Applications for Z.ai's startup support program can be made through the official website.

Recently, the AI industry has seen an expansion of ecosystem support models, where global technology companies and venture capital firms collaborate to provide AI infrastructure and mentoring to startups.
