Life Research Institute (CEO Yeon Hyeon-ju), which operates the life care platform 'Cheongyeon (Cleaning Research Institute, Cheongyeon Care)', announced on the 11th that it was selected as the representative app for International Women's Day in 2026 on the Apple App Store.
International Women's Day, celebrated annually on March 8th, celebrates women's social and economic contributions. Apple selected Cheongyeon as its flagship app, describing it as "a life care platform that redefines the value of housework and builds social infrastructure."
Since its launch in 2017, Cheongyeon has focused on cleaning services, reducing customers' household burdens and supporting work-life balance. Women make up 65% of users, and the app has recorded 14 million cumulative matches and 4.65 million app downloads.
We are also expanding employment opportunities for middle-aged and older women through the creation of "managers," professional domestic service providers. Currently, there are 200,000 registered managers, 70% of whom are in their 50s and 60s. Managers are open to women aged 29 to 74, and they enjoy flexible work hours and locations.
The Life Research Institute promotes the professionalization of housework by offering benefits such as manager job training, annual support funds of up to 2.8 million won, and a "Ddeundeun Membership" program. It also implements a work-life balance program for employees, offering up to 300,000 won in monthly house cleaning points and 200,000 won in childcare expenses. Women account for 73.2% of the workforce, and last year, the institute received the Prime Minister's Award in the Exemplary Female Entrepreneur category at the 2025 Women-led Enterprise Awards.
Recently, the company launched "Cheongyeon Care," a senior daily care service, expanding its reach into a comprehensive life care platform. It plans to provide specialized senior care training to Hope Managers, strengthening the scope and expertise of female employees.
Yeon Hyeon-ju, CEO of the Life Research Institute, said, “Being selected as the representative app for International Women’s Day is a recognition of our efforts to improve services and work environments for women,” and added, “We will continue to become a company that provides positive experiences to more women, including customers, managers, and employees.”
