MegaZone Cloud Shares Quantum Technology Industry Application Cases with UT Austin MBA Students

MegaZone Cloud (CEO Dong-Hoon Yeom) announced that it held a 'Quantum & Cloud Strategy Day' event on the 10th at the MegaZone Industry-Academia-Research Center in Gwacheon for a total of 37 people, including 33 students and faculty from the McCombs School of Business (MBA) at the University of Texas at Austin (UT).

This program was part of the UT McCombs MBA's global field trip program, "Global Connections." This was the second official visit, following the quantum computing experiential program for UT undergraduates last October. The MBA student event focused on the industrial applications of quantum technology and corporate strategy from a management and business perspective.

The event showcased examples of new drug and material development by AstraZeneca and IonQ, optimization of the LNG distribution network by ExxonMobil, and the application of quantum technology by global companies such as JPMorgan and Toshiba. This provided an opportunity to see how quantum technology is being utilized to solve real-world business problems across diverse industries, including pharmaceuticals, energy, and finance, and to explore the latest trends.

Philip Cornelius Glover, a researcher at MegaZone Cloud's Quantum Innovation Laboratory, explained a case study on optimal route search in the field of maritime energy logistics, saying, "Conventional methods have limitations in finding optimal routes, but applying quantum optimization techniques can yield more accurate solutions."

Kim Dong-ho, CQO of MegaZone Cloud, said, “I hope this program will serve as an opportunity for students to understand quantum computing from an industrial strategy perspective,” and added, “We will continue to expand collaborations with global universities and research institutes to ensure that quantum technology can lead to business innovation.”

UT McCombs MBA Professor Uruz Khan commented, “This was a valuable opportunity for students to connect the concepts they learned in the classroom with real-world global corporate cases. We anticipate that our collaboration with MegaZone Cloud will play a significant role in fostering the next generation of business leaders in a rapidly changing technological environment.”

In recent years, the global cloud and quantum computing industries have seen a surge in the sharing of quantum technology use cases aligned with corporate strategy, leading to a growing demand for programs that connect management education with industry practice.
