On the 11th, Ohdushil Lab announced that it signed a business agreement (MOU) with the Korea Environment Corporation, Korea Management Certification Institute, and Ecossian at the Korea Environment Corporation Smart Work Center in Dangsan, Seoul, for the ‘Development of a Carbon Emissions Management System for the Transition to a Carbon-Neutral Society.’
With the recent efforts to establish an implementation foundation for the nation's 2050 Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and the growing demand for carbon management in global supply chains, the importance of carbon emissions management is increasing for both public institutions and businesses. Accordingly, this agreement aims to jointly establish a carbon emissions calculation and management system that can be utilized by both the public and private sectors, and to establish a data-driven carbon management infrastructure.
The platform developed through this agreement will be designed as an integrated management system that automatically collects and analyzes data using artificial intelligence technology and provides reporting functions for all Scope 1, 2, and 3 carbon emissions.
The Korea Environment Corporation (KECO) will support system development by providing its carbon management data and operational expertise, drawing on its experience in national greenhouse gas management and carbon neutrality policy implementation. Furthermore, it plans to enhance the accuracy and usability of carbon emissions calculations by linking with related information, such as its environmental data platform, Allbaro. The KECO plans to proactively adopt this system and utilize it for its own carbon emissions management, while also securing cost savings and operational excellence.
Ohdusi Lab will pursue system development and functional enhancements based on its existing carbon management platform, "Greenflow." Specifically, it plans to strengthen the automation of carbon emissions calculations by applying AI learning models. Korea Management Certification Institute will be responsible for verifying and certifying compliance with international standards such as ISO, while Ecossian will leverage its environmental and carbon consulting expertise to develop strategies to enhance its greenhouse gas emissions calculation service.
The agreement organizations plan to commercialize the service in September, the month when public institutions begin reporting their carbon emissions, after developing, verifying, and piloting the system.
Seol Su-kyung, CEO of Ohdusi Lab, said that the importance of a data-based carbon management system is increasing, and that she would contribute to the development of the domestic carbon data ecosystem by building an AI-based carbon management platform that can be utilized by both public institutions and companies.
With the recent strengthening of ESG management and supply chain carbon regulations, the market for corporate carbon data management solutions and digital carbon accounting platforms is rapidly expanding.
