GENAXIS (CEO Son Mi-kyung) announced that it has been selected as the private operator of the LIPS program, which is overseen by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and operated by the Early Investment Accelerator Association.
The LIPS program is a government-supported program that leverages the investment capabilities and acceleration capabilities of private investment institutions to identify small businesses with high growth potential and foster them into entrepreneurial small businesses by combining investment and commercialization support. Private operators are responsible for providing comprehensive growth support, from identifying promising businesses to investment, incubation, and market expansion support.
With this selection as the operator, GENAXIS plans to identify innovative small business owners in the lifestyle sector and establish a support system that combines investment and acceleration. Specifically, the company plans to operate a step-by-step growth program focused on small businesses with strong brand competitiveness, encompassing initial investment, market validation, sales channel expansion, and follow-up investment.
GENAXIS is a venture capital firm specializing in early-stage startup investments and acceleration. It has accumulated investment experience in the bio and deep tech sectors. Recently, it has expanded its investment scope to include lifestyle industries such as K-beauty, food and beverage (F&B), and content.
Additionally, based on our experience investing in consumer goods-based brand companies, such as functional cosmetics brand BVMT, we have supported the strengthening of brand competitiveness and business expansion of small and medium-sized businesses with high growth potential.
Through the LIPS program, GENAXIS plans to establish a support model for small businesses that links investment and growth, while also focusing on increasing their potential for global market entry. To this end, the company will leverage its network of overseas partners to provide global market validation and investment attraction opportunities.
Son Mi-kyung, CEO of GENAXIS, announced that the LIPS program will support innovative lifestyle small business owners to grow beyond local brands into competitive companies in the global market. She also announced plans to combine investment, acceleration, and a global network to foster an environment where entrepreneurial small business owners can thrive.
Recently, the government and private investment institutions have been working together to build investment-linked growth models for small businesses, a trend that is expanding across the startup and small business support industry.
