Nota participates in the K-Moonshot Strategy, promoting collaboration on physical AI based on on-device AI.

Nota (CEO Chae Myeong-su), an AI model optimization and lightweight technology company, announced that it will participate in the 'K-Moonshot Promotion Strategy', a national research and development project promoted by the Ministry of Science and ICT, and begin technological cooperation for the implementation of physical AI.

Nota officially joined the project on the 11th by participating in a business agreement to establish a public-private partnership for the "K-Moonshot Promotion Strategy." At the signing ceremony, 33 companies, including Nota, LG AI Research Center, SK Telecom, Naver Cloud, and KT, major AI and ICT companies, participated and agreed to collaborate on building a national AI innovation ecosystem.

The K-Moonshot Strategy is a large-scale national R&D initiative aimed at strengthening science and technology research competitiveness and enhancing global technological competitiveness through AI. Companies participating in the "Independent AI Foundation Model Project," including LG AI Research Institute, Upstage, and SK Telecom, will also participate, establishing a comprehensive cooperative system encompassing AI models, data, and computing infrastructure. Through this initiative, the government aims to double research productivity by 2030 and address 12 challenges in eight fields using AI technology by 2035.

The areas of cooperation will cover the entire process of artificial intelligence development, including verification of AI agents supporting scientific and technological research, cooperation and localization of computing infrastructure such as GPUs and NPUs, and construction, refinement, and distribution of research data for AI utilization.

For this project, Nota will pursue collaboration on on-device AI technology based on its self-developed AI platform, NetsPresso®. On-device AI, which executes AI models on the device itself rather than on a cloud server, is considered a core technology for implementing physical AI in robots and industrial equipment.

Netpresso is a platform designed to reduce AI model size by up to 90% while maintaining performance, enabling efficient optimization and deployment of AI models across a variety of hardware environments.

Nota will also support the integration of domestic AI models with NPUs. The plan is to expand the scope of application for domestic AI models by providing an optimized execution environment that enables stable operation of AI models in a variety of hardware environments, regardless of specific model limitations. Nota will support model optimization and lightweighting, enabling domestic AI technologies developed through proprietary AI foundation models and industry-specific models to be utilized across a variety of domestic NPUs.

These technologies are expected to serve as key enablers for executing AI models in real-world device environments in physical AI fields such as robotics and industrial automation. Furthermore, they are expected to foster an industrial ecosystem where domestic AI models and hardware are utilized together, reducing dependence on foreign technology and reducing infrastructure costs.

Nota CEO Cha Myung-soo said that participating in a public-private partnership project to strengthen the nation's scientific and technological competitiveness is a meaningful opportunity, and that based on the technology accumulated in the on-device AI field, he will accelerate the commercialization of physical AI and contribute to the development of optimized AI models that can be utilized in actual research environments.

As the importance of on-device AI and physical AI technologies increases in the fields of robotics, industrial automation, and smart devices, industry interest in related AI model optimization and lightweight technologies is also expanding.
