Danggeun Used Cars Reveals Preferred Vehicles by Generation… Distinct Characteristics for Domestic Sedans, SUVs, and Vehicles for Business Use

According to an analysis of listing data by Danggeun Used Cars for the past three months from December 2025 to February 2026, there are differences in preferred vehicle types by generation.

Users in their 20s preferred domestic sedans by considering both practicality and style, with the Hyundai Avante, Grandeur, and Sonata occupying the top spots in search rankings. Along with this, imported sedans such as the BMW 5 and 3 Series and the Mercedes-Benz E-Class were also included in the top 10.

For those in their 30s, the range of options has diversified as demand for SUVs and family cars increases in addition to sedans. While the Hyundai Grandeur and Kia Morning ranked at the top, the Kia Carnival and BMW X Series newly entered the rankings.

Demand for family cars was prominent among those in their 40s, with the Carnival recording the highest number of views. Premium sedans such as the Genesis G80 and Mercedes-Benz E-Class were also included in the top rankings, indicating that vehicle space, convenience, and brand value are considered together.

Among those aged 50 and older, vehicles used for livelihood purposes accounted for a high proportion. The Hyundai Porter entered the rankings for the 50s age group, while the Porter ranked first among those aged 60 and older. Multi-purpose and cargo vehicles such as the Kia Bongo and Hyundai Starex were also included in the rankings, reflecting the characteristics of local-based direct transactions among middle-aged and older adults.

User activity and the number of listings are steadily increasing. From 2024 to 2026, the number of listings increased by an annual average of 42.6% and the number of completed transactions increased by an annual average of 23.8%, and last February, the 'owner verification' process for peer-to-peer listings was completed to enhance transaction reliability.

An official from Danggeun Used Cars stated, “Users of all age groups are searching for vehicles that suit their lifestyles, and we have strengthened trust through owner verification,” adding, “We will continue to provide a safe and reasonable environment for direct used car transactions.”

Meanwhile, the proportion of online transactions in the domestic used car market is continuously expanding due to generational preferences and the growth of direct transaction platforms.
