Doing good deeds alone is not enough to encourage donations. To secure more resources, it is necessary to explain and persuade others about the social impact an organization creates using figures and data. Impact tech company MyOrange, Inc. is leading a transformation in the planning, measurement, and reporting methods of impact organizations through its AI-based performance management solution, 'AI Impact Builder'.

“Can we bridge the digital transformation gap for impact organizations?”

We expect that if impact organizations, including non-profits and social ventures, work more effectively, they can bring positive change to society more quickly. We wanted to enable them to handle simple and repetitive tasks using technology, allowing them to focus on creating social impact, which is the essence of the organization.

CEO Cho Seong-do stated this. MyOrange, Inc. is an impact tech company established in 2022. While working at Slowalk, a design and digital agency, CEO Cho witnessed firsthand the digital transformation gap among impact organizations. "While working at Slowalk for about 10 years, I observed organizations where the way of working was stuck 10 years ago, organizations interested in digital transformation, and organizations adapting quickly," said CEO Cho. "I examined various organizations, but ultimately, the digital transformation gap between impact organizations was widening. I decided to start a company because I wanted to resolve this issue."

CEO Lee Myung-hee, who joined MyOrange, Inc. in September 2024, is an impact measurement expert. She has over 10 years of experience in social impact creation, measurement, and design at foundations and university impact research centers. Additionally, she managed projects at KOICA and Global Civic Sharing that involved establishing impact frameworks and visiting developing countries in person. Through these experiences, she possesses a practical sense for bridging indicators between the field and research. CEO Cho stated, “I heavily referenced CEO Lee Myung-hee’s thinking and work style in designing the AI Impact Builder, and I have translated an expert’s capabilities into technology.” He added, “Not everyone can become an expert, but I hope that by utilizing AI tools, people can receive expert assistance more easily and conveniently.”

Persuading by quantifying social impact

“Securing corporate partnerships is not easy. Nevertheless, there was a common characteristic among organizations that connect with global companies or large conglomerates. It was the fact that they quantified the social impact they generate and used it to persuade the companies.” (CEO Cho Seong-do)

Since its founding, MyOrange, Inc. has undergone pivots while launching various solutions and services. It has launched diverse services and solutions targeting members of the entire impact ecosystem, including corporate social responsibility teams, social ventures, non-profit organizations, and individual donors. Through iteratives such as 'MyOrange, Inc.', which helps donors give smartly, and 'Orange Lab', which provides information on non-profit organizations, the AI-based integrated social impact performance management SaaS solution 'AI Impact Builder' was born in March 2025.

AI Impact Builder is a generative AI capable of integrating and managing the entire process of business planning, impact management, and reporting for impact organizations. Designed based on the Theory of Change, it creates an impact framework through eight steps, establishes detailed criteria by asking additional questions in response to user prompts, and derives results. Users can easily get started with questions such as, "I want to volunteer in Mapo-gu," or "I want to plan a project to help children." Furthermore, users can plan projects on the theme of "children facing food insecurity," summarize the performance of planned projects in reports, and refine new measurement metrics based on these findings. CEO Lee explained, "Impact measurement has long been considered the domain of consultants or researchers, but now, through the use of technology, anyone can adopt an impact perspective." He added, "AI Impact Builder functions as a co-creator, assisting with social impact measurement and performance management in a standardized manner."

In particular, AI Impact Builder primarily targets members new to impact organizations and domain experts seeking to create social impact in their respective fields. It defines basic concepts necessary for work for those with limited experience in writing business proposals or performance reports, and refines the impact framework of the user's intended business through AI-guided questions. Furthermore, when domain experts in various fields are considering business methods and outcomes to solve social problems, it facilitates the proposal of measurements and performance indicators based on the actual changes (outcomes) created by the project. CEO Lee stated, "Entrepreneurs I met during the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA)'s CTS (Creative Technology Solution) project struggled significantly with setting social impact metrics." He added, "Teams with specialized technical skills in other fields often find it difficult to approach projects from a social impact perspective when entering the public sector, but using AI Impact Builder will allow them to conceptualize projects more efficiently."

AI Impact Builder optimized for designing domestic and international social impact performance indicators… 2,700 projects created in 7 months

For impact organizations, revenue consists of donations. Donations are essential for growth. To elicit donations, it is becoming a necessity to quantify organizational performance and persuade donors. AI Impact Builder can serve as a co-creation partner, offering not only simple inputs and outputs but also deep and meticulous approach to projects.

Since the launch of the 'AI Impact Builder' feature in August 2025, 2,700 projects have been created. Among them, over 200 projects have been completed, finalizing impact frameworks across various fields. Organizations seeking to create social impact, ranging from corporate social responsibility organizations like Woowa Brothers Corp. to non-profit organizations such as Good Neighbors, KOICA Mid-Term Youth Volunteer Project (operating Global Civic Sharing), and the Korea Foundation for Women, as well as social enterprises like Beautiful Store and Aloha Ideas, have either already experienced or are currently using AI Impact Builder.

AI Impact Builder also helps to sharpen the social impact of a project. In the case of the 'Baemin Vacation Lunchbox' project by Woowa Brothers Corp., which provides meals to children during school holidays when school lunches are unavailable, over 30,000 pieces of unstructured data had been accumulated. Data exchanged in the form of conversations with the children was classified and organized to be used as the data necessary for writing the impact report. Through this data, AI Impact Builder applied the SEL (Social-Emotional Learning, a holistic growth education that helps children understand and regulate their emotions, empathize with others, build healthy relationships, and make responsible choices) model to discover insights into the project.

In addition, the KOICA Mid-Term Youth Volunteer Project, operated by the Korea Foundation for Women and the Global Sharing Movement, is simultaneously conducting workshops and tool usage training for internal members to enhance their impact capabilities. CEO Lee explained the benefits of the introduction, stating, “Since adopting AI Impact Builder, the time required to design and derive project outcomes has been drastically reduced,” and added, “We are using the tool to organize concepts and ideas, set goals, and attempt quick solutions.”

The goal is to create the client's impact framework cycle, from current measurement and design to performance generation.

“Users of AI Impact Builder are currently engaged in the initial stages of setting up impact frameworks. Our mid-to-long-term goal is to establish a cycle where, beyond this initial phase, data is accumulated using established performance indicators to manage results and discover further insights.” (CEO Cho Seong-do)

In addition, AI Impact Builder is preparing an English version targeting the global market. Through this, the company plans to expand its business into the public sector, including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and KOICA, which conduct projects in developing countries. CEO Lee stated, "The direction and resulting outcomes can vary significantly depending on how the foundational data and impact framework are established and implemented in the initial stages." He added, "We plan to actively collaborate with various organizations seeking to expand their social impact, even if they do not prioritize a social mission."

MyOrange, Inc. plans to focus not only on expanding the AI Impact Builder but also on changing the perception of AI among impact organizations. CEO Cho stated, “Since many people still have a negative view of AI, we plan to continuously carry out activities to change this perception and strengthen the impact capabilities of our members through AI.”
