Saramin (CEO Hwang Hyun-soon) announced on the 17th that Begins, a dating style matching app it operates, has completely revamped its service structure centered on AI features. This update was carried out to improve the appearance-centric, simplistic matching methods of existing dating apps and to provide more reliable connections that reflect users' values and lifestyle habits.
The newly designed home screen allows users to intuitively check the other person's lifestyle and tendencies. In particular, the 'AI Profile Highlights' feature analyzes user interest and value data to summarize key tendencies, helping users understand the other person's personality before matching.
In addition, through the 'Custom Recommendation' feature, users can search for partners based on detailed criteria including age, body type, preferences, and the dating tendency indicator 'BLOOM,' and an algorithm is applied to prioritize the display of users with a high probability of mutual matching.
This update also introduces an 'AI Photo Diagnosis' feature. AI analyzes the facial expression, composition, and image delivery of profile photos to provide personalized improvement guides, and users can choose a feedback style between 'positive expression-centered (Angel Mode)' or 'blunt improvement-centered (Devil Mode).' Members can analyze up to six photos, while non-members can also experience the feature with just one.
A Begins official stated, “Many users find the process of finding a suitable partner difficult,” adding, “This update focused on enhancing the matching experience by more accurately reflecting users’ tendencies and lifestyles.”
Meanwhile, the dating app industry has recently seen a trend of enhancing the user experience by introducing AI-based personalized matching and image analysis features, moving beyond services focused solely on appearance.
