C-Lab, an AI specialist company, is entering into a strategic partnership with Ihwa Machinery Japan, a Japanese industrial equipment company, to expand its presence in the Japanese AI infrastructure market.
CEELAB announced on the 17th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Ewha Machinery Japan for the supply of its AI infrastructure solution 'AstraGo' and joint business development.
This collaboration was pursued amidst a surge in GPU demand driven by the spread of generative AI, where securing equipment and operating costs have emerged as major challenges for companies. According to market research firm IDC, the Japanese AI infrastructure market is projected to grow to approximately $5.5 billion by 2026, driven by government-led data center expansion policies.
In response to these market growth trends, CEELAB plans to expand its presence in the Japanese market by leveraging its technological competitiveness in enhancing GPU resource utilization efficiency.
'AstraGo 2.0', the core solution for collaboration, is a Kubernetes-based GPU cluster management platform and an AI infrastructure management solution designed to manage multiple GPU resources in an integrated manner. It is characterized by its ability to increase GPU utilization and reduce idle resources through intelligent scheduling functions, and to lower operating costs for training and inference environments by utilizing GPU virtualization technology.
In addition, as a company selected as NVIDIA's 'Preferred Partner,' CEELAB is expected to meet the demand for AI infrastructure adoption from Japanese manufacturing companies and research institutions based on its relevant technological capabilities.
The two companies plan to combine Ewha Machinery Japan's Japanese manufacturing industry network with CEELAB's AI infrastructure building technology to identify local customers and pursue proof-of-concept (PoC) projects. Through this, they intend to strengthen cooperation to expand the adoption of GPU-based AI infrastructure by Japanese companies and lead to the creation of business results.
CEELAB is also pursuing a strategy to diversify its revenue structure by expanding its business scope from its existing vision AI-centric business structure to the AI infrastructure sector.
CEO Yoon Se-hyeok explained that while Japanese companies have a strong desire to adopt AI, there is a high demand for management solutions that can efficiently operate GPU resources, and stated that they would provide an environment to increase GPU utilization through AstraGo 2.0.
Lee Jong-ho, Representative of Ewha Machinery Japan, also stated that optimizing AI infrastructure is becoming a critical task in the digital transformation process of the Japanese manufacturing industry, and that he plans to achieve meaningful business results in the Japanese market through cooperation with CEELAB.
Meanwhile, in the global AI industry, the adoption of AI infrastructure efficiency solutions utilizing GPU cluster management and virtualization technologies is expanding to address the issue of GPU resource shortages.
