C&R Research announced on the 17th that it has established a local branch in Indonesia to strengthen its entry into the global clinical trial market. The establishment of this branch is part of a strategy to expand its clinical trial network in Southeast Asia and enhance its position as an 'Asian Global CRO'.
Indonesia is considered a rapidly growing clinical trial market in Southeast Asia, with a population of approximately 280 million enabling the recruitment of diverse patients. Recently, as global pharmaceutical companies expand their clinical trials in Southeast Asia, the demand for multinational clinical trials (MRCT) is increasing.
C&R Research plans to establish a clinical trial cooperation system connecting Korea and Southeast Asia through its Indonesian branch and provide clients with diverse MRCT operating environments. In addition, by leveraging its experience operating existing overseas branches in Thailand, Singapore, and the United States, it intends to utilize Indonesia as a central hub for clinical operations in the ASEAN region and strengthen its local clinical execution capabilities.
Kim Yun-ho, Managing Director of Business Development at the Indonesia branch, has been appointed as the branch manager and will oversee local operations.
Branch Manager Kim Yun-ho stated, “Indonesia is a key clinical trial market with diverse patient populations and growth potential,” adding, “By adding a base in Indonesia to our ASEAN network, we will strengthen support for our clients’ multinational clinical operations and enhance our competitiveness as a global CRO.”
Meanwhile, the demand for local CROs and clinical operation services in the Southeast Asian clinical trial market is rapidly increasing, driven by the expansion of multinational clinical trials by global pharmaceutical companies.
