Cross-media content IP startup Marcoville (CEO Lee Ju-hyeon) has emerged as a global powerhouse by achieving remarkable results in the global kids IP market in the first half of 2025.

Marcoville's representative IP 'Cheetah Boo' achieved the feat of taking first place in the Mexican weekly (6/9~6/15) movie/animation popularity YouTube ranking announced by Playboard. This is a symbolic event that proves the global competitiveness of K-kids content.

The Cheetahbu Spanish YouTube channel has been a huge hit, garnering 71 million views and 510,000 likes in the past week. It is currently garnering 17 million views per day, showing continued growth.

The Cheetahbu Korean channel achieved first place in the Movies/Animation category in May with 340 million views.

Makovill CEO Lee Ju-hyeon said, “Cheetahboo, which has been around for four years since 2021, has established a solid position in the domestic kids’ content market, standing shoulder to shoulder with existing powerhouses such as Pinkfong and Bebepin.”

In total, Cheetah Boo has surpassed 4.2 billion cumulative views and 5.3 million YouTube subscribers. In terms of a single channel, the Korean channel set its own record with 14.75 million views on May 4, and the overall single-channel record is 18.33 million views recorded by the Spanish channel on June 17. In terms of all channels, it has achieved an average of 300 million views per month since 2025, and has shown an average of 450 million views per month over the past 90 days. By the end of this month, it is expected to surpass the total views for 2024 in just six months of 2025, and is expected to surpass 5 billion views within the third quarter.

Cheetahbu is systematically targeting the global market through multilingual channels such as English, Spanish, German, French, and Japanese. In particular, the Spanish channel surpassed 1 million subscribers in February and received the Gold Button. Marcoville is also planning to enter the Portuguese-speaking world in the future, and will further accelerate its expansion into the Latin American market.

It also achieved success in expanding the IP universe centered around Cheetahbu. The 'Dinocar' series, a unique concept combining dinosaurs and police cars, surpassed 50 million cumulative views in just 8 months since its launch. This is 7.5 times higher than general content.

'Army Workshop' has shown success in the publishing market. 'Army Workshop's Store Play' has sold a total of 5,000 copies as it enters its third printing, and the sequel is also preparing for its second printing after selling out its first edition. In addition, it has successfully operated pop-up stores at Hyundai Department Store Trade Center, Cheonho, and Mokdong, showing balanced growth both online and offline.

Makoville has high expectations for the game business in the second half of the year. 'Oz Re: Lite', which is being developed in collaboration with Hive IM, received an overwhelming response in the Japanese beta test, with 96.1% of users responding that they would play after the official release in the second half. This is a significant increase from 50% in the initial development stage to 69.8% in the intermediate inspection and then to 96.1%, showing the results of Makoville's data-based development methodology.

Based on these achievements, Makovil successfully attracted a Series A2 investment of 4.5 billion won in February. It was led by Hive IM and Laguna Investment, with participation from Kona Venture Partners, Smart Study Ventures, and KC Ventures.

Lee Ju-hyeon, CEO of Makovill, said, “Cheetah Boo’s standing shoulder to shoulder with global powerhouses like ‘Masha and the Bear’ is a historic achievement that demonstrates the global competitiveness of K-kids content.” He added, “Based on the performance of the first half of the year, in the second half of the year, we will take a further leap forward as a global comprehensive media IP company by officially launching ‘Oz Re:Lite’ and achieving 5 billion views on YouTube for ‘Cheetah Boo.’”

Makovill is a cross-media content IP startup founded in 2020 by CEO Lee Ju-hyeon, formerly Vice President of The Pinkfong Company. Through the global success of Cheetahbu, it is proposing a new model for YouTube-based IP business.
