Hyperconnect, the operator of the global video communication platform 'Azar', announced that on the 21st (Sat), it visited the 'Maseok Abandoned Dog and Cat Shelter' located in Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do, and conducted volunteer work to protect abandoned animals during the summer. This volunteer work is Hyperconnect's fifth regular employee volunteer work that has continued since 2022.

Hyperconnect is a global tech company that has grown by supporting genuine connections between users around the world through 'Azar'. Based on this, it has been consistently carrying out CSR (corporate social responsibility) activities to realize social responsibility and spread good influence, and volunteer work at an animal shelter is a representative example.

The volunteer work on this day was carried out through the voluntary participation of Hyperconnect employees. Before the real heat began, we carried out activities to improve the environment, such as cleaning the kennels and cages, maintaining the kennels, and repairing the facilities, so that abandoned animals could spend the summer comfortably and safely. We also helped to build emotional stability through walking abandoned dogs and playing games.

The Maseok Abandoned Dog and Cat Shelter, where the service was conducted, is a private shelter that has been operated by volunteers for over 20 years, and currently cares for about 20 abandoned dogs and 3 abandoned cats. Especially in the summer, the high temperature and humidity increase the risk of disease and the burden of facility maintenance, so continuous attention and help from outside sources are urgently needed.

One Hyperconnect employee who participated in the volunteer work said, “This summer is expected to be one of the hottest ever, so I participated this year as well as last year in the hopes that abandoned animals can have a cool and healthy summer,” adding, “The company’s efforts to continue meaningful activities are a source of great pride.”

Hyperconnect Communication Manager Park Jeong-yeon said, “Thanks to the employees who voluntarily participated despite the hot and humid weather with rain, we were able to convey Hyperconnect’s core value of ‘connection’ to abandoned animals.” She added, “We will continue to work hard to contribute to creating a society without loneliness through sincere communication and participation.”
