SHMD (CEO Song Min-young) announced on the 20th that it was finally selected for the '2025 Global Acceleration Program (GMEP)' hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.
GMEP (Global Market Expansion Program) is a government project that supports promising domestic startups to enter overseas markets. It helps them to promote product verification (PoC), investment attraction, and commercialization cooperation through linkages with local professional accelerators.
SHMD is a medtech startup that developed the wearable ultrasound device 'CEREBAND' and the brain health analysis application 'BRAINCHECK.AI' based on AI-based cerebral blood flow analysis technology. It was previously recognized for its technological prowess by being selected for 'NVIDIA Inception', a startup incubation program by global AI semiconductor company NVIDIA.
Through this participation in GMEP, SHMD will work with Plug and Play, a global accelerator based in Silicon Valley, USA, to establish an entry strategy optimized for the local market and pursue full-scale market verification and networking.
In addition, this project is operated as part of the Korea Intellectual Property Office's IP-based deep-tech startup global expansion support project, and SHMD will also receive support for intellectual property protection and commercialization in the U.S. market by utilizing its technology and IP assets.
Song Min-young, CEO of SHMD, said, “This selection as GMEP is an official recognition of our technological prowess and global expandability,” and added, “We will leap forward as a leading company with competitiveness in the global market through AI-based cerebral blood flow analysis technology.”
