The Gyeonggi Center for Creative Economy and Innovation (hereafter referred to as the Gyeonggi Innovation Center) announced that it held the '2025 Startup Leap Package Kickoff (My Team Is Scale-up! Companionship for Leap)' event on June 18th in Yeongjong Island, Incheon.
The Startup Leap Package Support Project is a representative startup support program hosted by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups and the Startup Promotion Agency and operated by the Gyeonggi Innovation Center to support the growth of startups in their 3-7th year of operation. This year, the Gyeonggi Innovation Center plans to select a total of 46 companies, including 26 large-scale collaboration companies (KT, LG Electronics) and 20 investment-parallel companies (KVIC), and support acceleration for their growth.
In particular, the Gyeonggi Innovation Center will operate an investment parallel track for two consecutive years, and the 20 selected companies will undergo SAFE investment review by Korea Venture Investment (KVIC). At this event, private venture capitalists and experts from various fields participated to congratulate the selected companies and had a meaningful time participating in various sessions.
On the first day of the event, a networking program between selected companies was held, along with an introduction to the startup leap package operation plan, 1-minute speeches by each company, and an introduction to large corporations and investors. A special lecture on 'Entrepreneurship Education' by the founder of Mobile Cyworld and a panel discussion with investors (Dongmun Partners, Platinum Technology Investment, Capstone Partners) were also held, allowing startups to actively communicate and resolve their investment-related questions. In addition, global award cases and growth stories of the 2024 startup leap package senior companies were shared.
On the second day, Samil Accounting Corporation and Jin Accounting Corporation held special lectures on accounting and investment preparation for startups and management of government-supported project expenses. The Global Management Technology Research Institute provided practical education such as certification and procurement market entry strategies and customized expert-linked demand surveys for startup leap packages.
This kickoff event served as an opportunity to strengthen cooperation between participating companies and solidify collaborative relationships with partners, and to help understand the Gyeonggi Innovation Center’s accelerating program that will be implemented over the next 10 months.
Gyeonggi Innovation Center CEO Kim Won-kyung said, “I hope the selected companies will actively utilize this program and grow together so that Gyeonggi Innovation Center can grow into a global unicorn startup hub.” He added, “Through this year’s startup leap package, which consists of large company collaboration and investment parallel programs, Gyeonggi Innovation Center, KT, LG Electronics, Korea Venture Investment, and the selected companies will build a win-win ecosystem and continue with follow-up support.”
