The Real Group (CEO Sung-Jun Ahn), which operates the global fashion meta search engine 'Realry', announced on the 24th that it recently attracted 6.2 billion won in Series A investment. This investment was participated by US venture capital firms Han River Partners (HRZ) and Strong Ventures, and the total investment attracted including this round amounts to 9.8 billion won.

The Real Group expanded its service categories by acquiring Austria-based sneaker search engine ‘Sneakers123’ in November last year. It recently succeeded in turning a profit by improving its profit structure, and plans to accelerate its transformation into a commerce media platform based on this investment.

The company cited ▲development of AI-based advertising products ▲improvement of user experience (UI/UX) ▲recruitment of AI/ML talent ▲strengthening of content and sales/marketing organizations ▲recruitment of global key talent as the main areas of investment.

“Based on the data accumulated in Realy and Sneakers123, trend prediction and hyper-personalized recommendations have become possible,” said Ahn Sung-jun, CEO of The Real Group. “We are pursuing a transition beyond fashion price comparison to a commerce media and adtech platform.”

Hanriver Partners Partner Yoon Joo-sun evaluated, “Really is a competitive platform with AI-based personalized user experience and fast search functions,” and “We saw growth potential in terms of both scalability and profitability in the global market.”
