Samyang Comtec submits securities report to Financial Services Commission.. “Entering KOSDAQ listing process”

HB Investment announced on the 18th that its main portfolio company, Samyang Chemtec, submitted a securities report to the Financial Services Commission on June 16th and began the process for listing on KOSDAQ in earnest.

Samyang Chemtec is a defense material company that develops and manufactures bulletproof and protective solutions for tactical vehicles in the defense industry, and has recently continued to grow its performance based on stable production capacity and technological competitiveness. In 2023, it recorded sales of KRW 83 billion and operating profit of KRW 6.9 billion, and in 2024, it forecasts sales of KRW 141.6 billion and operating profit of KRW 18.1 billion, which are about 70% and 161% increases respectively compared to the previous year.

HB Investment has made strategic investments in the pre-IPO stage in relation to Samyang Comtec’s preparation for listing, and has secured investment opportunities by recognizing the growth potential of Samyang Comtec, which was undervalued in the industry at the time. HB Investment currently holds approximately 2% of Samyang Comtec’s shares, and plans to establish a mid- to long-term profit realization strategy based on the company’s sustainable growth potential even after listing.

The company explained that the investment in Samyang Comtec was a case based on its quantitative and qualitative integrated analysis model. At the time of the investment, it comprehensively evaluated ▲the level of technological prowess ▲the ability to respond to defense demands ▲the possibility of expanding into overseas markets, etc., and through this, it determined the potential for corporate value to increase.

HB Investment has previously achieved high returns through its investment in beauty brand ‘Dalba Global’, and if the IPO of Samyang Comtec is successfully completed, it will secure another meaningful investment recovery case.

Hwang Yoo-seon, CEO of HB Investment, said, “Samyang Chemtec is a case that shows the growth potential of a technology-based manufacturing company, and it is the result of identifying its potential and approaching it strategically in the early stages of investment.” He added, “We will continue to discover high-growth companies in the future and build a portfolio that combines profitability and market leadership.”
